It’s well and good to embrace linen’s infamous wrinkles, but they tend to be more charming around a Naples cafe than at a Manhattan soiree. For those who love linen’s organic look, yet wish to avoid its crumpled appearance, we often suggest linen blends. These cloths combine a variety of fibers to create highly-textured fabrics greater than the sum of their parts.
Our current favorite blended Summer fabric was developed by one of Italy’s top mills. Featuring the crisp, dry look of linen (11%), the drape of wool (77%), the luster of silk (11%), and the resilience of lycra (1%), it’s available in several softly neutral colors ideal for more casual tailored Summer clothing. Made up as separate trousers, it pairs perfectly with lightweight knits and sport shirts, and is a great candidate for the lapped side seam construction. We also love it for breathable, softly constructed sport jacket and easy relaxed suits.
Understated but high-performing, it’s a good choice for business, pleasure, and all the travel in between. Take a look below at close-ups on the texture of the cloth, and a couple of recent commissions.
